CODE OF CONDUCT

Leslie Youth Ball Club

Leslie Youth Baseball & Softball Association

As part of Leslie Youth Ball Club’s commitment to providing the best environment possible for our youth players, and in our commitment as parents to provide an example for all to be proud of, please read and commit by signing the following Code of Conduct. Please note that Leslie Youth Ball Club’s Code of Conduct will also be followed and enforced by all Leslie Youth Ball Club Members. Leslie Youth Ball Club’s Code of Conduct can be found on leslieyouthbaseball.org - or you can request a copy at any time.

Parent’s Code of Conduct (to be reviewed and signed by parent)

I hereby pledge to provide positive support and encouragement for my child participating in Leslie Youth Ball Club by following the expectations set below:

I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches and umpires at every game, practice, tournament, or other youth sports event. I will be a positive role model for my child by always showing respect and courtesy. I will not engage in any unsportsmanlike conduct toward any coach, player, parent, or umpire (i.e., booing, taunting, lewd language/gestures). I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my child ahead of any personal desire to win by teaching my child to play by the rules and to resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence. I will insist that my child play ball in a safe and healthy environment. I will provide support and respect for all coaches and umpires working with my child to provide a positive, enjoyable experience for all, regardless of race, sex, creed, ability, etc. I will not participate in any derogatory comments made about players, coaches, parents, and/or board members. If I have a problem, I will request a conversation/meeting to discuss the situation. I will observe a 24-hour rule to discuss the issue to allow for a “cool down” period to control emotions. I will promise to help my child enjoy this youth sports experience by being a respectful fan and volunteering to assist the Leslie Youth Ball Club in whatever I can do.

Player’s Code of Conduct (to be reviewed and signed by player)

I hereby pledge to provide a positive attitude and be responsible for my participation in Leslie Youth Ball Club by following the expectations set below:

I will encourage good sportsmanship among my fellow players, coaches, umpires, and parents always. I will listen and follow directions from the coaches. I will be respectful toward coaches, players, umpires, fans, and parents regardless of their race, sex, abilities, etc. I will expect to be treated with respect in turn. I will never use obscene language, gestures, violence, assault, hostility, etc. toward coaches, players, officials, or parents. I will refrain from any kind of bullying

activity (physically or verbally) toward any of my fellow players.  I will resolve my problems on the diamond or with the help of my coaches or parents and will not let my problems with players or other teammates interfere at school. I will do my very best in school and I will remember that sports are an opportunity to learn and have fun. I will alert my coaches and parents if the sport stops being fun for me because I deserve to have fun during my sports experience.

By signing this document, I/We understand the expectations set by the ball club and acknowledge that we have received and agree with the violation hierarchy provided by the club outlining the disciplinary action that will result in the violation of these expectations.
